Chestnut Greens-Del Webb

Overview

Chestnut Greens, a premier 171-acre active adult community developed by Del Webb, is located on the former Possum Trot Golf Course in North Myrtle Beach. A.O. Hardee & Son handled all site development for this master-planned project, which features around 500 homesites designed for the 55+ lifestyle.

Challenges

Converting the former golf course into a vibrant residential community with resort-style amenities required thoughtful grading and strategic planning. We had to balance the needs of both the homes and the recreational spaces, carefully phasing the work to ensure everything came together smoothly and cohesively.

Solution

A.O. Hardee & Son handled all aspects of site preparation, from earthwork and utilities to road construction, while also building the infrastructure for amenities including an indoor pool, outdoor saltwater pool and hot tub, a fitness center, bocce courts, and a clubhouse for community events.

Result

Turning the former Possum Trot Golf Course into Chestnut Greens is a prime example of A.O. Hardee & Son’s focus on creating community-focused developments. The end result is a 55+ neighborhood, complete with top-tier amenities like pools, fitness centers, and gathering spaces for North Myrtle Beach residents.
