A.O. Hardee & Son, Inc. partnered with Jim Cooper Construction Company, Inc. to construct the site of a new FedEx Small Package Distribution Center. This project laid the groundwork for a high-volume facility that will support the growing delivery needs of South Carolina residents.
This was a large site that needed a lot of dirt moved and balanced. The team handled over 200,000 cubic yards of borrow material and more than 120,000 cubic yards of waste, which took careful planning to manage efficiently and responsibly. With a big paving scope and a complex stormwater system, keeping things on schedule was key, especially as building construction was happening at the same time.
A.O. Hardee & Son handled 14,918 cubic yards of cut-to-fill and hauled off another 123,860 cubic yards of excess dirt. To shape and stabilize the site, crews brought in over 205,000 cubic yards of borrow material. They installed 11,500 linear feet of storm drain to manage runoff, then paved 73,491 square yards of roadways and truck paths, along with 10,000 linear feet of curb. The team also put in all the water and sewer lines needed to fully support the facility.
The completed FedEx Small Package Facility plays a key role in the company’s regional logistics, helping speed up deliveries and handle more packages. A.O. Hardee & Son brought their experience with large-scale site work to the table, getting the job done on time and ready for full operations without missing a beat.
