A.O. Hardee & Son, Inc. served as the civil contractor for SayeBrook Town Center, a large retail development anchored by Target and featuring multiple outparcel tenants. Located in a high-growth corridor, this 50-acre project created a major commercial hub serving the Myrtle Beach area.
The development required extensive site preparation, including over 125,000 cubic yards of material management across cut-to-fill and borrow operations. Coordinating utility installation and paving across a large, multi-tenant footprint—while accommodating vertical construction timelines—demanded precise planning and sequencing. The inclusion of an entry monument, irrigation, and full landscape buildout added layers of complexity and finish work.
A.O. Hardee performed full-site clearing and completed 90,561 cubic yards of cut-to-fill and 36,104 cubic yards of borrow. Utilities included 4,219 linear feet of sanitary sewer with a pump station, 4,747 linear feet of waterline, and 8,034 linear feet of storm drainage. Road and parking lot surfaces were built with 20,000 tons of graded aggregate base course (GABC), 16,396 linear feet of concrete curb, and 50,236 square yards of asphalt. Final enhancements included installation of the entry monument, electrical systems, irrigation, and landscaping to complete the development.
